We recommend booking 4 to 6 weeks before your travel dates, especially during peak season from November through April. Our calendar fills quickly and we limit bookings to maintain quality on every session. The sooner you reach out, the better your chances of securing your preferred time slot.
Yes, we do accept last-minute bookings when our schedule allows. Message us on Instagram with your resort and travel dates and we will check availability immediately. That said, we can always guarantee a better experience and more options when you book in advance.
Yes. When you reach out we are happy to share a full sample gallery so you can see exactly what a complete IVAE session looks like, not just the highlights. We want you to book with complete confidence in the quality and style of what we deliver.
We work at most major resort properties in Cancún, Riviera Maya and Los Cabos. Every resort has different policies for outside photographers, so once you book we confirm access and plan your session around the best locations within your specific property. We have experience at dozens of resorts across all three destinations.
Some all-inclusive properties charge a day pass or vendor fee for outside photographers. If that applies to your resort, we let you know upfront during the booking process so there are no surprises. In many cases we have existing relationships with resorts that simplify the access process.
We always prioritize safety. Beach sessions near or after sunset depend on the specific resort location. We only take clients to spots we have personally scouted and confirmed are safe and within the resort property. We never improvise locations.
Our home bases are Cancún, Riviera Maya and Los Cabos, where we have the deepest local knowledge and resort access. For other destinations in Mexico, reach out and we will discuss options. For destination weddings in particular, we are open to travel anywhere the right project takes us.
All IVAE sessions are scheduled around golden hour, the hour after sunrise or the hour before sunset. This is non-negotiable, because it is the single most important factor in the quality of your images. We coordinate exact timing with you based on your date and location.
This is one of the most common things our clients tell us before their session, and almost every single one says it after: it was nothing like they expected. We don't pose you. We guide you through natural movements and interactions, keep the atmosphere relaxed, and capture what happens. Most clients forget we are even there within the first few minutes.
We monitor conditions closely before every session. Overcast days can actually produce beautiful, diffused light and we know how to work with any conditions. In cases of heavy rain or extreme weather, we work with you to find an alternative time slot within your stay. Your satisfaction is always the priority.
Absolutely. We are very experienced working with babies and toddlers. We move at their pace, keep the session relaxed, and know how to capture genuine moments even with the most unpredictable little ones. Some of our favorite sessions have been with families with very young children.
Yes, this is one of our favorite things to coordinate. Proposal sessions require detailed planning to stay completely discreet while being perfectly positioned to capture the moment. We have done many of these across all three destinations. Reach out as early as possible so we can plan every detail.
After you book, we send you a full style guide tailored to your destination, time of year, and the look we are going for. Generally we recommend light, neutral tones that complement Mexico's natural palette, coordinated but not matching outfits for families, and anything elegant but comfortable. We guide you through every detail.
You'll receive fully edited, high-resolution images through a private online gallery within 1 to 3 business days of your session. We focus on delivering every image at the highest standard rather than maximizing quantity. Every photo you receive is ready to print and share.
Your edited photos are delivered through a private, password-protected online gallery you can access from anywhere. From there you can download all images in full resolution, share individual photos, and order prints directly. Your gallery remains active for several months after delivery.
Yes. IVAE Studios offers both photography and videography, including full destination wedding film packages. Our lead videographer works alongside the photography team so both deliverables are cohesive and shot at the same standard. Reach out with your dates and we'll put together the right package for your trip.
Resort photographers are typically staff handling dozens of sessions per day with no advance planning, no golden hour strategy, and a one-size-fits-all approach. IVAE Studios plans every session individually, works exclusively during optimal light windows, directs every moment with intention, and delivers a fully edited gallery at a level of quality you simply cannot get from a resort package.
